homophobia
Am I the only one who wishes this word actually denoted a proper phobia, complete with panicked attempts to get away and such? Like, less of a figurative usage which really denotes hatred more than overt fear, and more a literal usage where expensive psychologists suggest exposure therapies?
I just think that would be so much funnier.
